Job Summary:
As a Multi-Department Nurse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting various departments such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, ENT, Orthopedics, and more. Your responsibilities will primarily focus on assisting healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care, ensuring the availability of consumables and medicines, and managing the procurement process by preparing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs).
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care Assistance:
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories.
Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by healthcare professionals.
Provide patient education and ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
2. Department Support:
Work closely with the medical staff and assist in the day-to-day operations of various departments.
Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-ups.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Assist in the preparation and sterilization of medical equipment and instruments.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
3. Consumable and Medicine Management:
Monitor stock levels of consumables, medications, and medical supplies.
Place timely orders for replenishment based on department needs and usage patterns.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery.
Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain appropriate records.
Adhere to budgetary guidelines and seek cost-effective alternatives where possible.
4. Local Purchase Order (LPO) Preparation:
Prepare accurate and comprehensive Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) for procurement activities.
Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper documentation and approval of LPOs.
Verify and reconcile invoices and delivery notes to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain records of LPOs, invoices, and supplier contracts for audit and reference purposes.
5. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Management:
Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to record and maintain patient information.
Enter patient data, including medical history, treatments, medications, and test results.
Ensure confidentiality and data security in managing patient records.
Retrieve and update patient records as required by healthcare professionals.
Provide training and support to colleagues regarding EMR usage and best practices.
Qualifications:
Valid nursing license and relevant certifications.
Proven experience as a nurse in multiple departments or specialties.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and protocols.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in inventory management and procurement processes.
Experience in preparing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) is desirable.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and data entry.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
