• Experience:

From August 2016 to November 2021, I was a PR councillor for Mogale City, standing for the Democratic Alliance. I represented a semi-rural ward, and worked hard at improving my residents’ living conditions over this time.  Unfortunately the DA didn’t win enough votes in 2021 to allow me to retain my seat in council.

I have had a number of short prose pieces, poems, and articles published in different books, newspapers and newsletters over the years. I enjoy highlighting things which need to be exposed.

• I have published my autobiography, ‘Head Lines – Rebuilding a Brain’ together with my co-author Susan Orpen. This was published through Balboa Press, and is available online.

Education:

• Course in Creative Writing, The Writing School – Howick
• I attended Technikon Pretoria from 1997 to 1999 doing a National Diploma in Equine Studies.
• Play with a Purpose Certificate in Early Childhood Development; Nursery school teaching from 3months of age to Grade R. This course is registered and approved by the Department of Education.
• I completed a Dale Carnegie course in ‘People, Performance, Profits’ in 2003
• ‘The Sales Advantage Course’ through Dale Carnegie in 2004
• Lifeline’s Counsellor Training in 2001
• Certificate in Holistic Massage; I completed this through Healing Hands in 2008
