Lead the activities in the section on a particular work shift in the production of parts and other activities related to manufacturing in accordance with established operating standards, work instructions and company policy to ensure that quality products delivered on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Planning
a. Ensure that the verification and implementation of production schedule/requirement vis-à-vis with capacity and manpower taking into consideration the requirements of other processes.
b. Ensure the conduct of meetings at the start of the shift to discuss relevant issues and ensures the cascade of relevant information or instruction from management.
c. Ensures the initiation or participation in investigations of any trouble (quality, quantity, personnel, safety, facilities, and equipment) and ensures the submission of reports with proposed solution/s to direct superior.
d. Ensures the analysis of situations and recommendations for work improvements.
e. Ensures to encourage the associates to participate in the Kaizen and Quality Circle Program.
f. Ensures participation and compliance to new parts development requirements.

2. Leading

a. Ensures to responsibly implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy.
b. Ensures to responsibly create a high morale workplace according to acceptable ethical standards.
c. Ensures the orientation, induction, guidance, training, and evaluation of performance of associates.
d. Ensures the monitoring of work progress and prompt investigation of any abnormalities; and takes appropriate timely improvement action.
e. Ensures the availability of associates’ needed supplies necessary for the performance of their duties.
f. Ensures observance of good 5S practice and housekeeping.
g. Ensures to be knowledgeable in every inspection process.
h. Ensures that resources under my control are maintained and used accordingly.

3. Organizing

a. Ensures the direction, guidance and motivation of associates.
b. Ensures the conduct of investigation and make recommendations on concerns relating to employee discipline.
c. Ensures to resolve any conflict under his control.

4. Controlling

a. Ensures operator’s achievement of production efficiency target and conformance to quality standards.
b. Ensures compliance of established operating standards and work instructions (including new measures/countermeasures/actions, plans and work improvements).
c. Ensures the monitoring of operators compliance of the control forms (pre-operation record), analyzes its data contents and accuracy.
d. Ensures evaluation of associates’ performance provides feedback and identifies developmental plans.
e. Ensures to develop and implement needed training module/s.
f. Ensures to develop analyze, and present monthly reports including but not limited to forecasts, productivity, and safety.
g. Ensures monitoring of inventory and ensure flow out.
h. Ensures to participate in system audits to monitor system performance.
i. Ensure to stop production when it is necessary to correct a nonconforming situation.
j. Ensures to act as a member of the management team and performs other duties as directed by position or as required such as my share in the annual supervisor’s special assignment.
k. Ensures to pro-actively provide information or update management of status area performance, projects or reports.
l. Ensures the observance and implementation of company policies, procedures and programs such as QMS, EMS, 5S, ESS.
m. Ensures to report promptly any problem encountered.
n. Ensures to perform other related functions whenever necessary.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of a Supervisor

1. Supervise area of responsibility and be available for questions, assistance and instruction most of the time. Assures adequate and visible on-floor presence.
2. Monitors arrival and attendance of operators and assigns employees to work station. Ensures personnel adherence to the established work schedules.
3. Arrange for overtime whenever necessary.
4. Reviews, approves, disapproves request for leave, under time and change schedule.
5. Check daily production/inspection schedule and ensures employees’ achievement of daily quota.
6. Modifies work schedule or redistribute workload when absences occur to ensure continuous operation.
7. Emphasizes critical areas to watch; and check it as work progresses. Makes countermeasures when output or quality appears unsatisfactory especially with new entrants.
8. Reports all quality problems.
9. Reports and/or request for maintenance, repair or replacement of defective tools or equipment.
10. Check workmanship and progress of each employee.
11. Assist employees, allows more time or assign additional work whenever appropriate.
12. Check work area to ensure a safe work environment; immediately report and investigate all work related injuries and accidents.
13. Ensures high level of employee morale to aid employee retention.
