Job Description

The Apprentice Electrician works on site to assist the Lead Electrician with installation,

troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The Apprentice Electrician

will learn the fundamentals of electrical installations, working under the guidance and direction

of the Lead Electrician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, connect and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment as directed by lead

electrician

• Follow safety and electrical codes

• Unbox, organize and label electrical components

• Read blueprints and schematics for installation, repair and maintenance purposes

• Ensure the quality of all work completed, and alert Lead Electrician to any issues that arise

• Monitor electrical systems to ensure optimal performance

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment

• Assist with ordering and tracking of electrical materials

• Assist in the evaluation of estimates

• Assist in the documentation of work completed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in the electrical field

• Knowledge of electrical systems, components and troubleshooting

• Electrical safety certification

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

• Ability to effectively use power and hand tools

• Ability to perform all tasks with minimal supervision

• Excellent attention to detail

• Aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
