High School English Teacher
I taught Grades 11 and 12 according to Common Core Standards, and classes were segregated. I taught both boys and girls. My curriculum included American as well as British Literature.I taught a total of 26 sessions per week. Responsibilities included preparing lesson plans, pacing guides, quizzes, assessments, handling corrections, as well as curriculum planning and overview. Lesson Planning and preparation included reading, accommodating, modifying and implementing activities based on SEN students’ IEPs (Individual Educational Programs) as well as ALPs (Advanced Learning Plans) for Gifted and Talented students.I taught both SEN (Special Educational Needs) students as well as Gifted and Talented students. My responsibilities also included preparing students for IELTS and TOEFL tests, writing students' recommendation letters for universities, as well as preparing valedictorians for presenting their graduations speeches in English.
Middle School English Teacher
I taught Grades 7 and 8 according to Common Core Standards, and classes were segregated. I taught both boys and girls. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, pacing guides, quizzes, assessments, handling corrections, curriculum planning and overview as well as preparing events such as AKNS Talks and preparing students for MAP exams. I taught a total of 24 sessions per week. I taught both SEN (Special Educational Needs) students as well as Gifted and Talented students. Lesson Planning and preparation included reading, accommodating, modifying and implementing activities based on SEN students’ IEPs (Individual Educational Programs) as well as ALPs (Advanced Learning Plans) for Gifted and Talented students.
I also proctored and administered TIMSS (Trends in Mathematics & Science Achievement) Assessment as well as CAT 4 Assessments. I created Quarter Exams with questions of various DOK (Depth of Knowledge) levels to target higher thinking skills for students. Students were also trained on the usage of a Bubble Sheet for their English Quarter exams in preparation for other tests such as IELTs and SATs.
Language Arts Teacher
I taught Grade 7 in the American section for two years according to Virginia standards. Responsibilities included curriculum mapping, curriculum overview, creating resource packs for students, preparing weekly/daily plans, quizzes, handling corrections as well as delivering a total of 20 sessions every week which cover the 4 skills (Reading- Writing-Grammar-Vocabulary) in addition to Listening and Speaking sessions.
English Instructor
I taught a diversity of subjects at different levels covering essential English for everyday life as well as some specialized "English for business" courses. Those cover Meetings & Presentations’ Skills, Email and business writing, Introductions to Marketing, Finance, HR & Sales. I taught all the adult levels (From True Beginner to 8) as well as TOEFL Preparation Courses and pronunciation courses. I also joined Berlitz Kids Program & Berlitz Private Tutoring Program.
Mentor & English Language Supervisor
Responsibilities included coaching, developing, monitoring and evaluating a team of instructors. They also included assigning teachers on schedules, setting development and action plans for them, receiving feedback from clients on sessions and instructors as we ll as conducting placement tests.
